I cocked up mounting the dropouts. Somehow the nds slipped.
This is what you get from rushing things after work hours.
I was thinking about different solutions but in the end I decided to file back the brass and heat up the dropout junction. Most heat on the dropout and a bit on the tubes. It allowed me to bend the whole thing a little and it is now all good and nobody will ever know :)

Why didn't you just braze a gear hanger eyelet onto the existing dropouts?
-
• #1754
They didn't work.
The frame was a prototype and we were given the dropouts bfor free to test out. Brass hardware never worked as they lacked paint tolerance and adjuster collided with hub. Also travel in the dropout wasn't enough -

nobody will ever know :)
I certainly won't tell anyone.

On my way to pick up my new wheels for above bike ^
I was hoping to have it ridable for tomorrow's HDIJ but it isn't happening. So instead I will go to the pub tonight and finish the bike tomorrow. I got bottle cage bosses and cable guides left to do on the frame and dynamo wiring to do on the rack.
I am also considering a subtle reinforcement on the drive side dropout. It might be fine, but having sculpted and heated it twice makes me anxious. I don't want to repaint. Nds will be fine as disc tab acts as reinforcement. -

lol mock ups without tires are always so meh. Im sure this thing is gonna be all kinds of rad tho!
I feel like the drive side reinforcement would look kinda silly. If it breaks you'll just glue it all together again anyways :)

Swap outs.
Tomorrow I'll clean everything up and braze it back together. Then disc tabs, cable guides, barrel adjusters and bottle bosses.
