Cinelli Vigorelli/ Parallex 52 or 54

  • I will be in London from 24th to 28th january. I am looking for a 52/54 size Vigorelli or Mash Parallax frameset.

  • Size 53cm Vigorelli any good?

  • I just checked your ad again. You are two cm longer than I am and both Cinelli representative and LBS suggested me to buy size M. How was the ride for you? Isnt this frame set too tight for you?

  • Hi again. How tall are you? Doesn't the medium have a 55+cm effective top tube? If you're about 5'8" then I'd say that's a bit big. I'm 5'9" and with a 100mm stem it fit like a glove. For me at least. I've ridden a few centuries on it (including a climbing fest down to Brighton and back taking in Ditchling beacon from both sides). Can't say I wasn't tired at the end but the bike felt very comfortable all ride. What size top tube do you ride now? Measure your most comfortable bike for comparison?

  • For context I’m 5ft 7in with a 30in inseam, and I ride a 49cm Parallax with a fairly racey fit. All depends on how aggressive you want it to be. Photo attached for sizing reference (excuse non drive side!).

My other road bike is a 53cm Salsa Caseroll which is super-chill and fits comfortably in a much more relaxed fit.

  • I have caad10 track size 52 now. Its way too raicy fit for me. I am looking for more chill ride. Thats why i want to replace my frame set. Vigorelli has more upwards geometry.

Right now my top tupe is 53.5cm, standover 77 and i have cinelli stem which is 5cm. Still too downwards for me.

I am looking for a vigorelli to try. Maybe size small will be a good fit i will definitely buy yours

  • I'm a bit confused now. But if you find a bike with a 53.5cm top tube and a 50mm stem too racy (ie stretched out) then I can't understand why you'd want a medium vig as that has an even longer effective top tube. How tall are you?

  • I am 1.73 and I have 77cm inseam. Once I tried Vigorelli aluminium size M and it was a smooth ride but it was too expensive at that time. Actually I'm confused too. According to geometry charts I can ride size S but my LBS and Cinelli representitive suggest otherwise. I am tring to find someone around me with vigorelli to give it a try.

  • Hi. So as far as I can make out, you're about an inch shorter than me and I ride the small. I'm not going to attempt an "internet bike fit" as we all know everyone is different in terms of flexibility and proportions etc, but given that the difference between a small and medium Cinelli is 1cm in the top tube (53.5cm vs 54.5cm effective top tubes) I would think you could find a stem that would get you a decent position on either bike.

If you want something less "racy" then normal logic says get the shorter top tube as it'll feel less stretched out, but the flip side of that is that the bigger frame will have a fractionally taller head tube which may give a higher position with a shorter stem.

In short I think your best bet is to try to borrow a bike and see how it fits, but you'll need to do a decent ride on it to really know if it fits or not; a trip round the block won't tell you anything.

Obviously I want to sell my frameset, but worst case scenario and you bought it, built it up and decided it didn't fit you, then I doubt you'd struggle to sell it on for all or most of the £300 I want for it. It's in very good condition and was £750 new not long ago. I think in the summer you'd actually get more for it than the £300. Even in that scenario you'll have a much better idea of what frame size you actually want/need. Best case scenario, it fits you nicely and you enjoy many happy miles together.

Depending where you are in London (and when you're there) I can probably drive to meet you saving you any carriage costs. I live near Maidstone so it's a little drive, but happy to arrange that if you wanted it. PM me if your interested. Otherwise I'm going to update my for sale thread with the same offer to anyone who might want it.

    Cheers, D.

  • I have been trying to find someone for a while to have a test ride and decide once and for all which size is best for me. I love this frame set but I dont want to waste a flight from Israel to London for a frame set that I will have to sell again. For the last 3 years I have changed 3 bicycles and I want to have a Vigorelli that I can use at least 4 5 years. I will let you know if I can buy yours or not if you will still have the frameset.

  • Hi,
Will you sale this bike out of U.K.?
    Will fit 5'7"high rider?
    thanks

  • Thanks, but mine’s not for sale! It was just an example of how they fit to help OP in the search for the right size.

  • Is it for sale im in London :)

  • Hi, no - mine’s not for sale, I just posted an image to help OP with sizing :)
