Ride fixed. Gear changing problem solved ;)
Seriously though I have the same issue (Raynaud's) and my best bet is lobster gloves worn loose as YAL mentioned to stop tightness cutting blood flow. Even if dexterity is reduced put them on when you are warm beforehand and don't take them off! Make sure your core is warm as well.

These are a disappointment. Soaked index finger + thumb after 40 minute commute in mushy snowfall.

I got some DeFeet merino gloves earlier this winter and have already managed to lose them!
Now it's actually cold and I don't have any decent gloves.
I can't be trusted with nice things......

Those decathlon from ^^^^up there are decent.

For the price, that's very poor. Shame - my old Hestra windproofs are ace.

Can anyone recommend some 'lobster claw' style gloves? I can't see to find the sealskinz ones in stock anywhere

Got the pla**t-x Carnac ones, they're, well, ok. At least the pair I bought a year ago.

I got some Norwegian army issue mitts and even at minus5 they make for hot hands . 15 quid. Places like callum military

Do they have the finger seperstuin like this?
They're for my father, who has arthritis in his hands.
@richardshill will check them out ta

Carnac ones are just like this above (finger-wise.)
Arthritis gallops in my family and already get stiff finger joints at (nearly) 52 :( so find lobsters a bit of a pain but they do at least keep my hands warmer of all the gloves I've tried. -

Bought myself some Dexshell ‘Ultra weather outdoor gloves’
Quite pleased with them so far... Toasty warm, don’t feel clammy and apparently waterproof (not been out in any serious rain yet)
Also touch screen friendly. You can get them for £15 if you shop around

These are great. Leather palms, so a bit of balm/care needed, but good waterproofness and warmth even on frozen mornings. The website has loads of other gloves as well.

Gloves I bought above available for £9.99 posted now.. dammit!
Probably a little close to spring for them but worth getting for next year maybe :-)

What's the concensus on how winter gloves should fit? I've taken delivery of Madison Avalanches in two sizes. Medium is a bit snug on the palm putting it on, and fingers are at the ends although it doesn't feel too tight. Large is more roomy and has space for liners.
I'm pondering whether the medium will stretch over time, and of the large will be unwieldy with the extra space.

Large. One wash of any of the gloves I've bought render them slightly L-ess/M-eduim-ish

Good to know, thanks.

I have the Hestra over mitts and they are very good, really good to pop over any pair of gloves/mitts when it gets colder or wetter. Also takes away alot of the wind chill

Went for the slightly larger gloves. Comfy. 10/10 would choose again.

winter is coming, new gloves time :)
Last year went through 3 to 4 pairs of relatively cheap gloves (£15 to £30) - working daily on a bicycle that has a rholoff grip shifter just tore them apart. Just before it got warm again bought a pair of dexshell ultraweather gloves which were really good but quite fussy to take on and off and had too much material around the finger -so made iPhone tapping difficult. Had my doubts they’d withstand the stresses that they get put under from work. Good for commuting and as general gloves but not what I wanted them for.
Anyway.. Trialing these this year:

The various layers don’t seem to get separated, making it easy to get them off and on again.
They are quite warm, so not really suitable for extended use in this mild weather. But who needs gloves when it’s over 10degrees anyway.

No idea where my old moto gloves are. Misplaced them since Feb, I think. Looks like I’ll have to keep an eye on this thread again!
Seem to have weirdly proportioned hands and trouble finding a ‘just a bit loose’ fit.
Think I need a day of bike shop shopping and try every b*strd pair until I find some.
Oh, and then lose one of them. Obviously.
