you know you can use a regular 'figure of eight' lead?
(I'm assuming you want the nice neat apple version, but just in case) -

Ok I miiiiight have one spare from a charger where the cable frayed and sadly also had to spend £80 on a new one. If I can find the bit you need from the one that frayed then its yours.

thanks for the info ...
I was reading something about how non-apple ones can fuck up your power supply, is this true?

Nah man I highly doubt that. It's just a 3 prong plug! I don't think there's anything inside them other than wires and a fuse.
The Apple power supplies are essentially cheap made in China shit too really. They just have a veneer of nice design but ultimately made cheaply in the same factories. My original MacBook air charger started to fray when some of the wire started turning yellow - it looked like it was discoloured from overheating. Spent £80 on another genuine Apple charger and it's started doing the same bloody thing! So they aren't exactly high quality units to begin with.
However, your charger should have also came with a longer ticket mains cable that attaches to the power brick in the same manner as the plug you have circled. You don't have this long cable? Its not pictured above, I'm see if I can find a photo of it.

That's the extension cable I was talking about
One came with my MacBook air but it maybe wasn't included with all MacBooks.Anyway I've found the spare plug thing! So if using a genuine one puts your mind at rest then it's yours for £35 plus postage.
Ha, only kidding pm me your address and ill post it out to you for hee-haw
Rather off topic but I've been traveling and managed to lose the 3-pronged bit of my macbook airs power block ... (I can't even work out what it's called).
I went to the Apple store and they wanted me to spend loads on buying a whole power block or one for an ipad and take the 3-pronged bit off which feels ridiculous to me ...
It's this bit that I'm looking for ... wondering if anyone has some spares kicking around from broken adaptors etc.
