  • Nah man I highly doubt that. It's just a 3 prong plug! I don't think there's anything inside them other than wires and a fuse.
    The Apple power supplies are essentially cheap made in China shit too really. They just have a veneer of nice design but ultimately made cheaply in the same factories.

    My original MacBook air charger started to fray when some of the wire started turning yellow - it looked like it was discoloured from overheating. Spent £80 on another genuine Apple charger and it's started doing the same bloody thing! So they aren't exactly high quality units to begin with.

    However, your charger should have also came with a longer ticket mains cable that attaches to the power brick in the same manner as the plug you have circled. You don't have this long cable? Its not pictured above, I'm see if I can find a photo of it.
