Many? I think I recall two. It doesn't matter. The point is the rules don't suddenly change when you hit 90. If it's in your system, according to WADA (and it seems pretty damn likely USADA but I'm not reading their rules) you're guilty.

If nothing else the fucker should be banned for eating two livers.

Many?
Across all sports, yes. Obviously a much smaller number in cycling.

Freeman going before a tribunal over that Testogel order
-
• #8131
So has new evidence come to light? Its from 2011.
-
• #8132
This one is the General Medical Council, referred by UKADA. Of course Freeman has not yet turned up to any hearings.
It is not news though.

The revelation that he ordered testosterone with a plan to use it with an athlete (or athletes) and then attempted to cover his tracks is new. And newsworthy.
-
• #8134
revelation
At this point, it's an allegation, not a revelation.
-
• #8135
You are right that that claim is new, I skimmed the article and thought this was about JiffyGate only.

The GMC must have some substantial evidence
-
• #8137
Must they? I don't know how high they set the bar to decide between dismissing allegations and taking them to a tribunal. They seem to be pretty flexible about that, depending on whether the doctor in question is a member of the right golf club.

The GMC must have some substantial evidence
From the gist of that article it sounds as though they have proof that the email to Fit4Sport was false and the Testogel wasn't ordered in error and destroyed ?
I guess they'll be some people tying in the date of the order in May 2011 to Wiggins jiffybag, but I doubt they'll have evidence to prove that. Clinic et al will be all over it though. -

From the gist of that article it sounds as though they have proof
From reading the actual words, everything is just allegations at the moment.
-

"It is further alleged that Dr Freeman failed to inform three patients’ GPs of medication prescribed and reasons for prescribing"
At a guess this will be corroborated evidence from said doctors.

Does Vino think nobody's watching or are Astana for real this time?
-
• #8144
To use a football analogy - this is similar to when fans of a team get excited because their team are thrashing all comers in pre-season friendlies, only for it to all come crashing down when they turn out to be shit when the real competitions start.
That said, I wouldn’t trust Vinokourov one iota.

Has he been done for buying the 2010 LBL off Kolobnev yet?

Freeman's team trying to delay the tribunal into Testosterone past the statute of limitations
-
• #8147
The statute of limitations for a doping offence. Which would meaningless for Freeman, especially when the GMC tribunal could remove his ability to practise medicine.
But it’s all conjecture anyway, we have no idea what the legal arguments are about but that doesn’t stop Roan and the BBC positioning it as ‘delaying tactics’.

Is there anything here where the “rider” would gain protected anonymity given they couldn’t be prosecuted? Which might in turn impact on the case?
-
• #8149
I don’t think there is a rider. I believe the reason the GMC are bringing this case is because Freeman was prescribing treatment to support staff, without the knowledge of their GPs. The testosterone was for someone in their 50s with a much younger girlfriend. Allegedly.

Doesn't work. Rhino horn is what you need.
Contador didn't get a free pass because WADA, and ultimately CAS, didn't believe that food contamination was the true story. Many other athletes have stood up the food contamination story with much more convincing evidence and have been cleared of any ADRV.
