Yeah essentially you just switch between accounts and its super simple to pay funds into it from your main monzo account or from elsewhere as it has a regular sort code and account number.
It really is simple to set up too. one of you creates the 'association' a notification goes to them to confirm and theres some confirmation stuff to click through but its all simple.

That's a good idea - thanks. I've been needing a joint account for a long time but my wife and I have never been able to both get into a bank for an appointment with all the necessary paperwork.
I never thought about using Monzo for it instead.
How does a joint show in the app?
