This thread will tell you about deda piega and soma hwy1 bars again and again. Have a read though, there are some tips about getting compact style drops (tight bends) in quill stems. Then for levers:
sram s500
shimano tiagra r400
cane creek scr-5
trp rrl
tektro have some too, but some are v brake specific and I don't know which -
What would be a good set of levers and drops to start with?
Drop curve is a very personal thing, but if you don't already know what you like it doesn't matter what you choose. I'd get Cinelli #64 for a classic look and easy fitment, modern bars with tight corners can be a struggle with traditional quill stems.
SRAM S500 levers are nice but a bit pricey, Tektro RL340 are cheap and adequate.
Looking to set my fixed up like this - I've only ever used risers, so have no idea about drops / brake levers.
What would be a good set of levers and drops to start with? Using a quill so would have to have a 25.4 or 26mm diameter
Cheers!
