  • Headshok question. Paging @Howard as the oracle on this kinda thing.

    1. How do you remove the headset bearings from an old headshok? I've got one in the frame that I imagine I just bash out, and one on the fork steerer. What's the method here. Just bash it upwards? What the best diy tool for this - internet is being rubbish.

    2. Any hope of me reusing these bearings? They are fine and I've got a new fork and frame for them to live in/on.

  • Hammer it off the steerer with some kind of blunt instrument that won’t damage the races or itself or the steerer. I’ve done it with a flat head driver before. Work around the bearing 12 o’clock 6 o’clock 3 o’clock 9 o’clock etc. Bit like a crown race but kinda annoying as you have to do it twice...

    The bearings should be ok to reuse - they are big enough to put up with a hammering.
