    The "banned shit" was a contaminant, not a listed ingredient. In general, you're more culpable for contaminated supplements than for contaminated food, because there are well established systems in place to allow athletes to source supplements of certified purity, but there's still no evidence that he deliberately doped. I haven't even seen any evidence that he definitely got one of the contaminated batches of supplement.

    Did his supplement -brand- test positive or his actual tub of whatever shit he was taking test positive? It's quite possible he had taken the supplement with the banned ingredient in it but not tested positive for it.

    Yes, that's possible. There's a lot of information missing from the media reports, such as when he used that particular supplement, whether the batch which was tested was the same as the one he used, and whether the contamination was systematic or sporadic.
