    Isn't hardcover usually the more desirable and higher quality edition, thus more expensive?

  • Yes if the font print sizes are the same. Not as many people want a book with a large font size so they don't make as many which pushes the price up. The paperback standard font edition will likely come out after a few months at a lower price.
