  • Out of curiosity, should I be expecting very close to max hr at the point of failure? And if not, do I need to htfu has something gone wrong?

  • Erm, not really but you might get close. Normally you'd get near to max HR just 'after' the effort. Do what I do and stop using HR straps (actually gone back to using one on the turbo only but I don't really pay attention to HR) :)
