Gent wanted to buy wheelset from me offering payment via BACS which I (this might have seemed a bit weird) strongly advised against, recommending that he only pays for goods (from complete strangers) via Paypal goods/services (no issue with covering fees), my thinking that when he pays in good faith via BACS and receives his wheels he'll use the same method to someone else next time and be fleeced!!! Anyway no great drama although he needed a bit of hand holding to pay via PayPal which he's now done however he sent via PayPal gift - shall I just send the wheels out to him anyway or get back in touch, refund and hand hold him through the goods and services payment? is there any real risk to me as a seller?
Cheers
There is no risk to the seller if the buyer pays through paypal gift.
If he had paid with good/services then there is more risk to the seller, as they can claim the wheels are damaged/unusable etc then get a refund. Paypal always seem to side with the buyer.
Thanks for your input. I'd heard and read a bit about seller protection against unscrupulous charge backs etc, then again as you said, there are more straightforward attempts, under goods/services, to rip genuine sellers off I guess ("oh, the box was empty" etc)
