How much fork steerer is available?
-
• #3
I’ll measure the following;
Head tube and full length of steerer.
Give me a min as it’s in the garage!

Ok
Head Tube is 134mm and Fork Steerer is 153mm.
So I think it’s too short to fit a threaded headset hence selling it with the steerer extender?
Thanks

Did you know the fork is too short for the frame?
I know you wrote that and took pictures of it and that kind of thing but bro, it's like seriously too short. OMG!
I'll leave this here: https://memegenerator.net/Is-Too-Short

That fork looks as though it wouldn't belong to that frame even if the steerer were long enough IMO.

You may well be right which is why I’ve listed as I have frame is good and forks can be used if the steerer extender/ahead converter is used so the steerer length isn’t then an issue.
I should have checked when the box arrived so my bad.
You live and learn 👍

If only there was an inverse shim for that model of fork... anyone?
For Sale;
I bought this frame and forks on eBay from Italy and it was listed as New Old Stock.
The Frame landed From Italy after a major delay in Italy due to a postage strike.
I checked the items and all looked great and left them in original box.
Frame and Forks were bubble wrapped separately so after some time I married up the frame and forks to find the fork steerer is too short for the head tube.
The frame and forks are lovely as you can see in pictures but will now either need to be split so longer forks can be used or if these forks are to be used they will need to be used with a steerer extender and used with an ahead type stem as opposed to a quill type.
55cm and it takes standard brakes, a British threaded BB, 27.2mm seatpost and a 1” headset.
Will also include the campagnolo record cable adjusters too.
The rear spacing is 130mm so good for a modern groupset and Wheels.
I was going to build with Silver Campy Potenza.
Anyhow, I’m moving house and need to reduce the bike fleet so this is up for sale.
As stated, you can replace forks with other 1” forks maybe carbon and build from there or use these forks and use the supplied steerer extender which will allow a 1” ahead stem to be used.
The frame will also come with a pair of Elite Ciussi Celeste Bottle Cages which are also new and hard to find these days.
The frame does have some very minor marks on it but is overall in great condition given its age etc.
Losing quite a lot of money here but asking;
£350 Ono plus postage for Frame, Forks, Cages and BBB Steerer Extender.
More pics available on request and feel free to ask any questions.
Cheers
Dave
