Car appreciation... the aesthetics, the engineering, etc

Good morning good people of LFGSS.

Not as exciting as Porsche, Audi etc but...my gf and I currently share a '02 Nissan Micra in fire engine red - and very nice it is too but the time has now come for an upgrade.

I am a man of simple tastes. My requirements are:

• 5 doors
  
• boot space for a push chair etc (no kids currently but probably not a million miles away) whilst also not too big as she doesn't want a 'big car'
  
• basic mod cons like Bluetooth
  
• decent build quality
  
• less than 40k miles
  
• less than £7k
  
  

Can anyone persuade me that a Fabia estate is not a good choice?

If you have better suggestions then chuck them this way!
