What time is it? Watches and horology

He's off season atm but yeah

I’m looking on pointers re. Watch storage. I have a box at the moment which holds 12 watches but I’m wondering should I invest in another one to hold my ‘good’ watches - which would be four- ish.
I have kept my new Speedmaster in its original box but it’s a bit of a faff getting it out as the box is huge. So I’m thinking a smaller one might be a plan. The Speedmaster box is in the pic - it’s around 3kg in weight and is not very handy to have sitting about.

Yes definitely. A 4-6 grid box will fit in a safe, 12 not so much. You have got a safe, right?

I’m currently safe-less. That might be another purchase I have to make.

Watch for the day, could do with a little TLC.
Also a nicer strap (hadn’t noticed before that it’s not original)

Nobody knows how to use an oven timer.

I can't but Mrs H does. Which baffles me as there is pretty much nothing else in terms of house appliances she knows.

That’s such an old man watch. Make sure he buys it and you borrow it forever.

Talking of old man, wearing dad’s Arctura that I’d acquired. Dat lume, very style, much shortlived. Wish it would last long enough to be useful. One of my favourite watches.

Lovely, looking to restore the plating a bit, either polish the crystal if possible or replace, and considering a black leather strap like yours.

Haha I'm planning on stealing the watch it's replacing, a very boring 80s Oyster perpetual with date window and light coloured dial. Not as nice as @freddo 's grey dial, but similar style.

I didn't realise you can't get a fluted bezel on a plain steel DJ. He's settled on steel/white gold with jubilee
