  • How do you actually ride off road? Only done it once and ended up in A&E (the week after my CBT, was 17). A lot of engine braking to avoid rear locking whilst sticking a leg out?

  • Cos they aren't shite.

  • Oberon clutch slave cylinder, thank me later.

  • I have one and bought that with a fucked engine.

But then in the 5 years...(more) I have obtained quite a few of the trick bits I wanted....not all. So no need to hurry.

  • There is a racing class, with lots of suspension and brake mods allowed.

  • Ah the cb boys. In the late 90's and 00's those racing boys supplied so many parts to make my cb5 wrecks look like well looked after bikes.

There were some cb500 cup bikes too. Irrelevant note many of the CB5 boys used the oe/niisin pads on the race bikes as they gave the best confidence.

  • To sit on the bike when in storage? Either Ctek or lidl/aldi

  • Why? Streetfighter is the best, in pink, how can it be bettered?

  • Do an off road day, is goldings barn still going or a bmw day. BMW day think about doing the ones in spain as its not much more and nicer weather than Wales.

  • Honest answer, neither.

Look at the bikes that riders for health (https://www.ridersintl.org/) use. That is the practicality of riding in the area if you want reliability and to get around.

  • Knobbly tyres, innit?

Watch a load of this fella, he was the absolute boss.

  • Oberon clutch slave cylinder, thank me later.

Funny you should say that... ;)

  • 'Cos bling fam, bare bling!

My thinking is whilst my body can still contort in the form I know the Daytona demands, I might as well exploit it sooner rather than later.
I know I can slap clip on's on a Striple, but it's a proper faff. Saying that, the '09 R package in burnt orange does make one itch.

On the other comment. I though minitwin was pretty restricted mods wise? No major swaps.

  • Fairly productive day, fitted a new oil filter, plus o-ring and Oberon clutch slave cylinder. Also fitted a kind of grub screw into the gearbox which has made finding neutral less of a lottery. Very satisfying. Wanted to get the newly repaired oil tank on too and plumbed in but will have to wait as light fading.

  • In light of the above, does anyone know if a hydraulic clutch works better when warm? Haven't ridden the bike as it's got no oil, but sitting in the shed the clutch lever is quite firm. Only asking as know my car's gearbox can be hard to shift when cold.

  • Mille gearbox, clutch and engine share the same oil.

Edit- Nice slave, glad you listened/followed my advice ;)

  • I'd actually already ordered the Oberon, but your comment made me feel better about splashing the cash :) Knowing that info I'll reserve judgement until I take it for a ride 🤞

  • Guessed, from my experience is making the clutch lighter on ducatis.

Wow they have got alot more expensive....

  • Having said that wouldn't be surprised if a new Aprilia unit was more, if you can find one.

  • Not looked in a few years, having an ex mate that worked in a ducati and aprilia parts department made things a bit nicer on the wallet.

Did have a few knackered originals, lined with a stainless steel inner. Then sold on for more than aprilia sold them for!!!

  • Selling your MX5 yet?

  • Depends if someone's serious to buy it, although think I've offered @NurseHolliday first dibs. We're currently saving for a house deposit and know getting a new car (even of the same vaule) you financially loose a bit so half considering keeping it for another 12 months. Half tempted as just refurbed the soft top along with a lot of other stuff and seems kind of rude to not properly enjoy the topless life myself.

  • I have the task of selling a ladies leather Harley Davidson motorcycle jacket. Size M. About 18 yrs old, used probably 5 times maximum.

My mother was not a fan of my fathers mid life motorcycle venture, even less so it matching jackets.

Anyone on here interested? Or have thoughts on what’s a reasonable price for it?

  • Well it would have to go through she who makes the decisions, but I'd be interested to hear some details. No rush though

  • Is it terribly bad that my lights are dimmer at tickover than when I bring the revs up a bit?

Bike is '99 XV250 if it matters.

Wondering if this could point to a bit of an electrical problem which might explain the dead battery I had to replace last year (though I think that was really due to the uninsulated fuse holder on the battery wiring) and I've just had to replace the tail light bulb as it had blown. Probably just coincidence right?

Also probably coincidence, I've noticed that my horn is fecked. Sound is really quiet and muffled. I reckon corrosion has gotten in to the mechanism so figure replacement is the best bet.
