Can't remember exactly what I paid, but it was exactly what their online quoting suggested. I don't remember any hidden costs. And I'm a cheapskate so I'd have shopped around a bit.
They always had some sort of discount on (though the 25% they have now I think was as good as I'd seen).
Then I had a guy that was fitting some flooring put them in at the same time. Fairly straightforward apart from I ballsed up the measurements slightly.
Measure top, middle and bottom they said, then left, middle and right.
So I did. All the same. Wow, rare that you get that on an old house. Lucky ol' me.
Bloody windows were a very slight parallelogram. -
I had a quote from a local fitter of £1250 for three windows 80cm x 150cm-ish
he uses real wood and is a one-man-band which is why I think (hope) he's pricey
I've got Hillarys and Utterlyshutterly coming over in the next fortnight to give quotes so I'll let you know if the bigger companies are any cheaper...
I got mine from California Shutters and very pleased with them. Didn't fit them myself but the bloke that did didn't have any problems. Got the slatted ones but they seem to do most the usual types
I think they're the same company as Shutterly Fabulous, but one brand (CS) doesn't do fittings and SF do.
