  • Watched I Kill Giants last night, great story and wonderful leading performance from the young woman in the leading role... I had something in my eye by the end...

  • Boss of a movie. Must rewatch.

  • Saw Mystic River last night. Great film but I found the score somewhat odd.

  • Not overwhelmed by anything recent...
BoRap - meh puff piece, though Rami Malek was good.
Happy Prince - bit dull, though Rupert Everett was good.
Stan & Ollie - enjoyed it but is quite slight.

Sitting on Peterloo, Won't You Be My Neighbour, Ralph Breaks the Internet and A Quiet Place for this weekend. Hope there are some better ones when the missus gets back into the office.

  • Watched The ABC Murders on iPlayer, considered it an extra long film as opposed to miniseries. JM was quite believable, did enjoy, but lost concentration toward the end and missed a bunch of the standard twists.

  • I thought the trailer for that Will Ferrell Holmes film looked like shit on toast:

Hollywood news site Deadline reports that Sony tried to sell off
Holmes and Watson to Netflix after poor test scores, but the streaming
    giant didn’t bite.

  • Kin, was 'kin awful.

  • Felt like watching a sci fi movie made in the 70s. Dire plot, acting, effects but still strangely enjoyable. Gets a bonus point for having Stay Fly on the soundtrack.

  • Murder Party - genius (but then, I’m an arts graduate so...)

Expendables... watched all 3 back to back as gave up last time I tried even the first. Must have had a knock to the head as I actually enjoyed them for the nonsense.

  • Seeing Vice tonight - despite some average reviews, quite looking forward to it. Really liked the Big Short so am hoping it's as decent as the trailers made it seem.

Also seeing Bohemian Rhapsody straight after as my girlfriend didn't wanna see Vice, so the compromise is to see a film about Queen>>>> Not looking forward to the latter in the slightest...

  • The story behind Freddie Mercury is pretty amazing. They've done well to make what by all accounts is quite an average film about it.

  • Haven't seen it but I read the comic years ago. Still have them actually. Well worth reading them if you can find them, as beautifully drawn and superbly written.

  • Just been to see the favourite. Rated it. Funny and dark in the right measures.

Watched The Big Short last night, really enjoyed it. Snappy dialogue and good shows all round somehow made a banking drama watchable.

  • Off to see the favourite today. Excited.

  • We tried to go yesterday. Fully booked!

Don't they know who we are???

  • The Favourite is great, weird and dark and funny. I think it's one of his more watchable films, loved how it's shot and lit (or lack of lighting), but Dogtooth is still my favourite

  • That's why you book to see it in Bluewater. Only three other seats booked. Win.

  • Yep. Really good. Some of the shots on fisheye's were amazing.

Vice was okay - very American. Admittedly, not knowing a huge deal about Dick Cheney, didn't help.

Bohemian Rhapsody is just okay. Rami Malek did a good job miming.

  • Death on the Nile is well racist...!

  • Really enjoyed the Favourite. The wife; not so much.

Olivia Coleman is amazing in everything.

  • What was it about your wife that you didn't enjoy?

  • There's a list....

  • Any one watched an evening with beverly luff linn.

    What did you think.

  • Birdbox on Netflix is trash. Worse than "Signs".
