  • Good point, they are fugly.

  • If you can find 2nd hand Apex levers or similar you can remove the shift mechanism and shift lever leaving a non flappy lever.

  • Or you can adjust the guards so the wheel only comes out when the tyre's deflated, as if you think about it that's the only time it really matters anyway.

  • Training bike

  • Nice. No aero wheels though?

  • Aero wheels on training bike? Why?

  • Unless I missed something, the owner is an aero specialist who run a business called Aerocoach, that does aero testing and sells aero product such as aero wheels, you know, for aero gains.

Yeah sure. But in training, for components, reliability>speed.

  • Thanks babes, I had no idea you don't need your fastest wheels for training (it's more to do with budget than reliability though, wheels don't start falling apart as they go deeper).
Maybe I was asking the owner about his wheels as his area of interest and level of expertise set him apart in this place.

  • Thanks babes

Glad I could help, toots. 😘

  • Can I claim "secret aero" as the H Plus Son rims with GP4000s on them are pretty quick? :D

I could go deep sections on that bike but I think it wouldn't be in keeping with the rest of the kit. I also already had the wheels built up when I did the Roubaix sportive on fixed* on a different bike, so I knew they'd be bombproof for training.

Plan is to have a carbon summer fixed training bike too - that will have deep sections on when it's done

  • Backup road bike. It's a Peugeot Frame with mostly old bits painstakingly sanded and polished...

  • Looks suspiciously like a freewheel to me?

  • The chain link look a bit stiff too.

  • What’s going on with the headtube most importantly

  • Lol. Just noticed. The photo is from 3 shots stitched and it appears that the stitching didn't work great ^^ - you can see that on the top tube too. In reality the headtube is very normal.

  • Good spot. Old chain from the parts bin. I initially had a smaller cog and I didn't want to get a new chain just yet. Or I suppose I could try and loosen it up...

  • This is very nice

  • Are the dual lever single brake adapters the best solution for pair of S900 brakes? No spring in the levers, and didn’t want to just tape it.

  • I used the rubber band method posted earlier in the thread and was good enough for me.

  • @Neddos and I were chatting about it today. V good. Nice work @Skant !

  • I had a Problem Solvers 2:1 with mine, fiddly to fit, but worked well.
