Does it have to be a Garmin? And is it a fixed route or can you pick your own?
I've just switched to a Wahoo Elemnt (bigger one) and I really like it for following a route, recording, battery life etc (Did a 200km ride over Christmas with HR, power meter and navigation and it still had 25% battery left after 9hrs elapsed time).
That said, it's not very good if you go off route or need to re-route as you can't scroll around the map. So for something like TCR where you may have made a mistake in and have to adapt your route on the fly, it's prob not so good.
What's the Garmin of choice for those of you that do TCR etc? 510 doesn't have the touch screen issues the 810 seems to get (based on internet reviews) but the 1030 is the all singing / dancing version but is it all needed for pre-mapped route?
Foolishly signed up for this Transpyrenees lark and will need something for both the training and the event itself.
