Which model is it? You should be able to recalibrate it yourself to grind finer.

It’s this one https://www.espressocoffeeshop.com/coffee-grinders/Grinders-Mahlkoenig/Mahlkoenig-vario-home. Have watched online videos and followed the instructions but all to no avail.

There's two adjustment screws have you tried both of them? How old is it?
-
• #15580
every time mine gets to the point i'm running out of notches to stop the shot from gushing, a readjustment on the small front screw has gotten me back in business.
sounds like you might have same issue as this chap where the big screw isn't staying in place.

or the burrs could be worn? I have the tool to get the top bit off if you need a borrow (though you could probably manage it with pliers/grips quite easily too).
as for repairers coffeehit.co.uk (london based) were distributors when i got mine in 2012 they may know of a repair centre who can help.

Yeah, can't seem to sort it. Just over a year.

OK cheers

Yea, Coffeehit or straight to Mahlkonig http://mahlkonig.co.uk/ either should be able to point you in the right direction.

Possibly the wrong thread for this, but it did make me laugh:

What the fuck are you talking about? This fits perfectly in here!
One of my favourite bits is
I have broken down the morning’s brewing process into so many parts that I have essentially given myself an unpaid internship that I am woken up for every day. -

It reads like any of those templated "slow news" stereotype poking pieces that pop up this time of year. Next week, cycling.

Anyone have an aeropress sitting around not being used that I could take off your hands? Would have to be posted, unless you’re based in Bath / Bristol

I’ve got five of these lovely espresso glass cups. No longer use them, so free to a good coffee home if you can collect from Stockwell (evenings/weekends) Hammersmith (weekdays)

I do, as it happens - I'm not won over by it compared to v60 so sticking with that.
Hardly used - how much are they worth?

My much loved bialetti has been going daily since 2015 on the same gasket. Finally showed it some love today.

Oof.
Was the filter broken or was the new one part of a set with the seal? Also, I'm completely sold on silicone over rubber, they last much longer and seal with less effort. -
• #15592
I find his standup very funny.
-
• #15593
Are there silicone replacements that fit Bialetti's well?
Might be an option for my Bialetti "Musa" which is very hard to screw so it's tight. -
• #15594
I’ve found that seals can vary wildly, both inner and outer dimensions need to be accurately measured. Ideally bring the filter and test yourself. I’m kind of off Bialetti since they’ve moved manufacturing out of Italy: Top Moka are great, save their stupid ungoogleable name.
-
• #15595
Yea I looked at Top Moka but didn't like the design.
Pretty happy with Bialetti in general I have to say, like how they look and it's good value for money.
I always just buy the original replacement screens and seals. Often on eBay, it's amazing how many people apparently get the wrong size and then sell them cheap. -
• #15596
Oh, what was it in the design that put you off?

Any recommendations for coffee in Oxford? Cheers.

Was up in Edinburgh and bought some beans from Artisan Roast - San Rafael Urias, bloody lovely. Should be for £13 for 250g but didn’t mind after the first cup.
They also do coffee pods which I thought was really cool

Don't know exactly how to put this in english; I think the term is "overdone".
-
• #15600
Wait, I think the word I was looking for is "gaudy"!
Anyone know a shop in London that can fix a Mahlkonig grinder? Have a problem with it not being able to grind finely enough for espresso.
