48hr race instead
ponders

No new bike yet, and no training plan structure either
I have, however, ordered my first ever pair of carbon fibre 'race' shoes

I'm almost certainly racing the week after and should've finish my Hyper the week before so sticking a 24hr MTB race in between seems kinda stupid. taps out Maybe next year.

Does this mean that I win?
-
• #156
You can only beat someone who is actually competing so err, no. I mean, unless you actually win the event, in which case, yes, you won, but then it's all gone meta and everyone has lost interest anyway.

I LOLd
I definitely want to cross off a solo 24hr MTB race at some stage but I keep finding myself balls-deep in road events.

I've just renewed my TrainerRoad subscription, so a 'plan' will soon be in place.

Have you considered becoming a professional coach?
-
• #170
My coaching methods have already been outlawed in China, Russia and the former East Germany and I'm not allowed to be at a sporting venue in Bulgaria, Romania or Putney.

Those bunch of pampered molluscs! Not even worth a sideways glance.
VO2 max of 92, throwing in a couple of blood bags each day and still only riding for 5hrs before hopping into the team bus for a rub and tug? GTFO >>> -

Right then. After 2 whole weeks of following a TrainerRoad plan, I've decided that a structured training plan really isn't for me. My time is fairly flexible, so I'd rather go by feel, and do whatever riding I reckon my body is up to at the time. Also take rest when I thinks it's appropriate, as I seem to do better with actual rest, as opposed to 'recovery' rides.
Still planning on doing mostly turbo stuff until the end of Feb. Then getting outside for a mixture of on & off-road rides. Only using the turbo when the weather is dire.
