  • Two of Jacques Audiards (director) films that he made previously is on my "all time best" list
The Beat That My Heart Skipped and Read My Lips. Well all his films great but those two my favourite
The Sisters Brothers is French/Canadian western affair shot in States, amazing to watch and follow the story

  • Sorry to bother you - I really really wanted to catch that movie. 20 minutes in all I wanted to do was leave. I can't say that I didn't get disappointed. I was hoping for Get Out (Plus Plus), and this is not half as good. Some interesting themes. And the movie does make the viewer think. However it's neither entertaining nor funny despite the many cheap gags.
Still hoping for a sequel to Get Out (dear Santa,...).

  • Looking forward to the sisters brothers, loved the book

  • It's been a Coen bros Xmas.
    No Country for old men
    Then
    A Serious Man.
Oh Brother where art thou, to bring things to a cheery conclusion

  • That was the sequel, Piranha 3DD (not a mistype).

  • Ahh! You’re right yep

  • Get Out was wank :/

  • Roma - good, but depressing
    Venom - watchable, but predictable
Predator - dumb piece of shit (only watched about 20 minutes)

  • I would not describe it as w$#k, and I enjoyed it.
    😉

  • Muppet Christmas Carol /endofthread.

  • Muppet Christmas Carol, can’t believe ex wife swiped that from my dvd collection :( full of win..
Watch Bright on Netflix last night.. was trash
So Layercake tonight to make amends..

  • Bumblebee was great. Mary Poppins was baaaadddd. Emily blunt was good but the music was shite.

  • Oh and new black mirror film. Genius. So so great.

  • Film binge over Christmas

Black 47, follows an Irishman who took the king’s shilling during the famine then deserts to take revenge on the English. I read a review a while ago calling it a potato western, it’s a very good one.

Venom - fun Tom Hardy Marvel stuff, the usual

Bad Times At The El Royal - darker than expected, some good twists, worth a watch

  • Enjoyed The Favourite, different take on a historical drama, good to see 3 leads all played by women.

  • ^ yorgos yanthimous' (sp, dgaf) latest effort. might pop into the cinema tomorrow to catch it. his other stuff is ameaz.

  • So good. So so good. All three of ‘em were fantastic. Some jokes totally lost on the American audience I watched it with though. I’d blurt our laughing and the whole cinema was totally silent.

  • Does Black Mirror Bandersnatch count as a film? If so, rubbish.

  • I thought it was top, not the best thing ever, but a fun concept that was interesting to watch/play and pretty well done. Gonna give it another run through at some point.

  • Also, watched blackkkklansman earlier and the sisters brothers the other night, both great. Sisters brothers is a really good film, blackkkklansman was an entertaining way to further realise how shitty people are, especially the white ones.

  • I really enjoyed it. Intrigued as to why you did not? Have ya seen how many possible endings there are? It’s insane.

  • In two minds about this - interesting as a film concept but as a video game it sucks (which is arguably what it is)...

  • Three billboards.... Liked it a lot,

  • yeah I saw most of them in my run through. My issue is that any time the video stops to make a decision it kills the momentum in the characters conversations as well as the flow of watching it. Also to be honest the story is pretty shallow, I liked the bit with going to Colin's flat and I liked how they played with re-do's, characters remembering each other etc, but I ended up watching parts of it 4 times because I hit a dead end.

  • I found it quite tedious. Liked the 3rd and 4th wall being broken in one of the endings though.
