The 5p charge reduced single-use bag usage from 7.6bn to ~1bn. The "bags for life" use around twice as much plastic, and sold 1.18bn last year. So total plastic going into landfill must have reduced by roughly 50%
What am I missing?
That the aim is reduce by 100%, not 50
