The seconds hand is longer than the minutes hand, which is slightly odd.

I own both, so it's a hard toss up.. the Ocean looks slightly more classy, but the SKX is just such a great watch.. They are my go to holiday watches.. pic below.. https://www.instagram.com/p/BWV40qtj7wa/?utm_source=ig_web_button_share_sheet

Thanks - the pic helps for size comparison as well.
However, the SKX007 is working again after giving the crown a few winds. The crown seems much easier to turn now and seems a little loose (when unscrewed obvs) - Maybe one of the seals has gone?...I’ll keep wearing as Amazon have already said they’d provide a full refund on return and I’m covered for another year.

Been looking at those.
They look great, although are they a bit small? -

Sternkreuz ‘armed’ crystals with the tension ring are horribly fiddly compared to regular crystals. At least the Omega has a gilt ring again now. Took a bit of patience with the crystal press. Lightly polished caseback too, scratches still visible but didn’t want to soften any edges.
Still not sure I’m keeping this, but it’s all I’ve worn for a couple weeks now.

Just tried a 2014 Explorer I on in Edinburgh - still £4750 just had a service and boxes + papers.
What was the last year that the numbers were silver rather than lumed? I thought it was 2016 but struggling to find it

Baselworld 2016 was when Rolex replaced the ‘Trumpy’ (small-handed) Explorer 214270 with the current variant.

Schools closed for Christmas = no work :-) the scaffolding outside my apartment building has been there for several months. I’ve not see anyone in it. Ever.

Ah thanks - the hands bother me less than the non silver dial. My understanding was before they had always been silver not simply lumed. Is that correct?

114270 (last of the 36mm) had lume inside white gold outlines for the numbers.
214270 mk1 (first 39mm) went to all white gold numerals
214270 mk2 (2016 onwards) went back to lume inside white gold outlines.
IMO, the proportions of the mk1 are all wrong, with the minute hand being a left over part from the 114270 and therefore too short for the larger face. The mk2 rectified this and looks so much better for it....
