I think. First things first.
Ramp test. -

Start with a ramp test.
-
• #2204
We’ve moved on, I’m doing 20 minute test tomorrow.

I don’t need to quantify how unfit I am.

Ramp test, 8% improvement.
Pretty happy with that given the chaos of the last 6 weeks. -
• #2207
8% is strong, well done!
-
• #2208
Thanks, albeit from a pretty low starting point!! But given I have a 4 week old and a 3 yo.
I'm quite happy with the start! -

Anyone familiar with how to connect the trainerroad ios app to a wattbike trainer? I know you can just unsure how exactly. Work has just had some put in their gym and want to take advantage.
-
• #2210
Familiar, no, but this has ios steps:

Cheers, I did try that earlier and it would connect but couldn't produce any data. May have to update the firmware.

My fitness nosedived catestrophically while my 3 year old was younger, so even more impressive.

Aim is three sessions a week. 45 mins to an hour. Medium to high intensity, giving sufficient time for recovery. Then once I plateau with that look to change it.
Luckily the youngest is soothed by the white noise.... -

I've just forked out for a portable omnium trainer for getting indoor sessions on holiday, at work, away weekends etc. Probably should have checked what wattage it'll max out at..
-

Use a Lemond trainer, then you don't have to listen to your children's cries for attention....
-
• #2216
Presumably if you have kids you close the door(s) so they can't stick their fingers into your wheel in which case the noise or actions of the demon spawn is largely irrelevant.

One of the reasons I got a direct drive turbo...

They just get fingers stuck in the cassette/chain or kicked in the head with a carbon shoe then.
Bro do u even parent? :P
-
• #2220
Lucky that my kid has a spare finger on each hand then!
-
• #2221
One of the reasons I got a direct drive turbo..
Ironic, seeing as it’s almost killed you once already!
-
• #2222
You can do recovery or endurance sessions in between the proper hard ones, I find it better than doing nothing. Or just take it easy in the commute, it's good to flush abused legs
-
• #2223
Yeah I find recovery rides better, issue is time at the moment.
First session at the new ftp was hard. Could feel my calf twitching in early signs of cramp at the end. -

Anyone used Durano Plus on a turbo for any length of time? I'm sure I must've done in the past when I had one on my TK3 but I can't remember if it was ok or terrible.

I’m currently using GP4000ii because I’m lazy and made of money.
Was making my way though that. But I don’t think he mentions everything. I know you can see CdA right? And then can I used golden cheetah to set up ramp tests? I do t think the phone app has as much functionality as the laptop or iPad?
I just want to maximise it.
