the guys for the DIY shop said it can still normal for modern appliances to have no earth wire... dunno...
I'd say the majority of small appliances not containing heating elements since the 1980s are likely to be double insulated and don't require an earth connection. Anything with a Telefunken figure-8 connector on the other end of the cable will be in this category, as will anything with a permanently attached 2-core flex. The square-in-a-square symbol next to the inlet plug here is the double-insulation mark.

Thank you for the advice on wiring a plug! Gonna swap the fuses and job should be a good ‘un.
It’s always had a 3A fuse because the plug is the original one and it broke in a funny way... Apparently this happens quite often when the screws get tightened too much... but like I said, it’s never been replaced... 🤷🏻♀️
And this is from a Cambridge Audioamplifier that was bought in summer 2014 but it has no earth wire... the guys for the DIY shop said it can still normal for modern appliances to have no earth wire... dunno...
Guess I am not going to cut the wires again since they are fine and it’s the plug that broke...
