There is a lot of drone flying on Wormwood Scrubs, surprisingly, considering proximity to the prison.

Pharmaceutical delivery services?

Exactly.
Though on The Scrubs they perform amazing arial displays -

I crashed and badly damaged my drone showing off to my wife.
Because adult women are impressed by high speed model aircraft manoeuvres.
I can still hear her laughs ringing in my ears.

I read that as....
I crashed and badly damaged my wife showing off to my drone.....
...which would have made more sense.

It was basically exactly like this.

There’s an area marked off for RC planes and whatnot.

There was a restaurant in NYC that thought it would be a great idea to have a drone flying around inside the restaurant delivering roses to tables for Valentines day.
Unsurprisingly, it hit a woman square in the face requiring surgery.
This is why I believe they'll be banned sooner rather than later-a trained/licensed/insured pilot wouldn't even take that on, pure stupidity.

How are the pictures of Gatwick Airport coming along?

It’s a conspiracy according to @General_Lucifer ’s colleague Intense Ginger Bloke.

all joking aside it does seem a little strange that they couldn't shoot it down?
-
• #41
Permission of the landowners to shoot it? I call nonsense on that part. But the test largely makes sense.
-
• #42
I read that as permission is required of the landowners to shoot on their land.
-
• #43
Yeah me to but that infers firearms officers couldn’t ever shoot on private land. Which seems unlikely to me.
-
• #44
I’d have thought the police are protected from this being an issue by existing legislation, I.e. if there is a life threatening situation then they can shoot. It’s hard to see how that would apply with a nuisance drone unless the operator was actively trying to bring an aircraft down.

Holding a plane in the air when it has finite fuel tanks could result in it falling out of the sky, so possibly a manslaughter vs murder type distinction.
-

There isn't any concrete information on the size or type of drones involved.
It's quite hard to shoot an object the size of a small book, travelling at 6okmh at an altitude of into 500m.
Of course, we could be talking bigger and slower drones...
