    i hate this bit of powerscroft road, i don't think there's space for someone to overtake safely whilst also keeping clear of the door zone. that's why my positioning is aggressive.

    i don't really know why i retreated on to the pavement, i think maybe i felt a bit safer having street objects, bollards etc between me and the car. i felt safer once i'd noticed he had got out of the car and it couldn't be aimed at me, hence why i stopped and decided to give him an earful.

    if the rider in the thrasher sweater is on here, thank you for stopping and asking if i was ok. i was more brisk than i would have liked to have been. i was feeling embarrassed and ashamed by the whole thing and just wanted to get home as soon as possible.

    Only just saw this. As someone partly responsible for that contraflow being there, I agree that the current layout is far from ideal--it should be fully two-way. However, we (LCC in Hackney) were facing the prospect of TfL forever blocking the changes necessary at the Lower Clapton Road junction for full two-way, so reluctantly said Hackney officers should proceed. It's very interesting that the driver didn't seem to grasp the concept of the contraflow. Glad nothing serious happened and there was a reasonable judicial outcome.
