Top Tube size on the Aurelius?
-
• #4
@FLRN_HSSL Top tube on the Aurelius is 54cm c to c measured horizontally (it's got a gentle backwards slope on the seat tube so the seat tube is only 49cm c to top)
As a guide, all these bikes are perfect for me at 5'9.5"...... so good for 5'8 to 5'11 with stem changes if needed

I have that same Aurelius frame in the same size. They make great bikes, too bling to use as a winter bike for me though, mine's dry weather only. GLWS

OK, some pics of the Aurelius first.
Light in the garage not great but you'll get the idea - it's a beautiful bike.

Deda bars
Planet X stem
Nitto seatpost
Specialized saddle
Conti tyres
New tape
New mudguardsApart from a couple of nicks in the paint, the bike is in excellent condition.

Quite tempted with the Ritchey Mike. Not really sure it's nicer than the Curtis though ;)
-
• #11
If it tempts you even more David, there's one on ebay at the moment with a lower spec, not as new, for £1400! This is a giveaway!!
-
• #12
Ritchey is colour correct, if only... Have a free bump for an orange bike. GLWS!

• #13
Ritchey Timberwolf now listed separately - and Guerciotti will be listed later in Jan when I've finished the build - Aurelius still available at £850 plus postage from Cheshire

Better pics (using a proper camera this time instead of crappy phone!)

OK, I still have this and although it's been listed elsewhere, I'd be happy to do it for a bit less on here (and it's about time I made financial contribution to the forum again, so I'll make a donation on the back of the sale)
£800 on here only......(and I know I'm breaking the rules but some of the listings elsewhere can't be removed sadly - those that can, have been!)

As this has had nearly 4,000 views I'm going to throw it out there that I will listen to offers - I could do with it gone but it's a lovely bike and already feel like I'm giving it away at this price, so I won't go "silly low", but if you're interested feel free to pm offers....I can only say no!
Probably the worst time of year to be selling, but needs must!

OK, I've been asked for some very detailed measurements, so all the measurements I can gather are now below:
Basic frame measurements are:
Top tube, horizontal, c to c = a tad over 54cm (looks like 54.2 or so)
Seat tube, c to top = 49cm (so backwards sloping top tube)
Head tube, inc cups = 15cm, exc cups = 12cmI'm running a 110mm stem, and with the seatpost set at 72.5cm from centre of BB to top of saddle (in line with seat tube) as shown - I'm just over 5'9"
In addition, I've measured reach and stack as best I can using a couple of online guides (best one being here: https://rideonmagazine.com.au/how-to-measure-stack-and-reach/)
I reckon:
the frame reach is around 37.5cm
the frame stack (exc top cup) is around 53cm
bar reach is 48.5cm
bar stack with all those spacers is 62cmI've just been looking for similar geometry frames on the web and if you look at the Planet X Pro Carbon, my Aurelius seems to fall in between the Small and the Medium (https://www.planetx.co.uk/c/q/bikes/road-bikes/pro-carbon)
OK, so I've not earned any money in the last 8 months (start up software company) so I'm going to have to think about selling some of my bikes in January and finishing up at n-3......let's call this early notice on a January sale!
First up:
54cm Aurelius Cycles, Columbus Zona, fillet brazed and typical Aurelius wishbone seat stay and lovely fillet brazing
(detailed sizing now provided below - this was a custom built frame and seems to come up somewhere between a Small and a Medium but take a look at the measurements yourself)
Bit of a bling "winter" bike, or all-year-round bike, with mudguard eyes front and rear, it's exactly the same as the frame shown in the gallery on the Aurelius site here (I haven't checked but I think this is actually my frame!):

Really nice condition, couple of small nicks to the paint but nothing serious and no dings or dents. Will be built with nearly new Campag Athena 11spd, Open Pros, full guards fitted - groupset like new, not even any crank rub, and rims don't have a great deal of wear either - maybe 500 miles on groupset/wheels - not much more on the frame - I'll be looking for £850
Reduced to £725 now (23/1/19)

Bike is with me in Cheshire
