To be fair she did ask for more creative control on the tree this year because we always use my decorations (although some of 'mine' are little wooden figures her mother sent us from Spain which I like and she doesn't), and a couple of the things she bought are genuinely nice. Sadly when we went to an RHS garden recently she vetoed these amazing fruit and vegetable decorations:
