In my car? You buy a smaller one?
-
• #45603
It's pretty small:
Height: 71.5mm (2.8”)
Length: 344mm (13.5”)
Width: 250mm (9,8”) -

Is this for the 996? Is there a cavity behind or under the rear seats? Or up behind the dash on the firewall? Maybe room there after the centre console delete?
-
• #45605
It is the 996, passenger footwell is possible but there's so little room in there.
Or, rather, there's basically nowhere that I can think of that is acceptably neat - I could just plonk it on the rear seats - like a total barbarian.

Had to fly back to London for the weekend because my GF was visiting. In the meantime my mate mad it back with his 126 and we went to visit the other little Italian cars

Rear passenger footwell seems like a good option.
I imagine the number of rear passengers you are planning to convey in this car is fairly low.

Nice, what’s the one in the middle?

Got any pics? Wish I was in a position to swap up cars, probably going to wait until this A4 is breathing it's last.
My smugness about the MOT quickly faded away when I got a call from the garidge saying it's failed on the ESP light, it's a sensor, oh that's alright no problem, ahh but sir it's the steering angle sensor, a proprietary part not made cheaper by anyone else and knocking on the door of 400 boys, plus another 100 for fitting.
Hello credit card my old friend...

It’s an Autobianchi Bianchina, shares the fiat air cooled twins cylinder with the 500 and 126.
-

Have to say the 500 twin air is giving me rallye style smiles atm. The JamiroQuai is dull as fuck. MPG pretty good tho. 😎

Hired a Juke in Spain last summer and honestly it was depressing, no idea how a major manufacturer releases a car with a gearshift that spongy and plasticky, really pitiful.
On the plus side it made the Audi shift feel like an open-gated ferrari, swift smooth click clacking down the M11.
-
• #45613
We had one as a courtesy car. Not sure how it manages to be so big on the outside, but so small inside.
Puts me off a Qashqai, which the mrs wants.
-
• #45614
The shift in the Quai is like an auto (lateral translation) feels so pony. Miss the Audi's mid range grunt and purposeful machine kontrol.

• #45615
How come so cheap?
-
• #45616
I already asked! How can you drop bombs like that and fuck off!?
Sign me up for 2 at that price.

Some ridiculously good lease deals spring up from time to time if you are willing to shop around and not be fussy about spec. This time round the fleet department at my local dealer (Citygate Skoda) offered to beat the deal I found on the vRS through a broker (see NVS quote below) with no 'arrangement' fees.
Not a vRS granted but here's a current example:

2019 Octavia from £79 per month...If you can put up with the spam then contact these guys and get on their mailing lists:

Agreed. get it. :D

Interestingly, they've updated the ULEZ checker and the MX5 no longer gets an import based pass.
I'm not selling it, but it's a pain.

three beauties right there.
what's the plan with yours? I am assuming you have it parked up safely somewhere half way near an airport. hope you going back for it to finish the trip.
-
• #45622
I’m flying back tomorrow morning with some tools in an attempt to extract the stuck exhaust studs and loctite everything back in place in the hope it doesn’t shake loose again.
With any luck I’ll leave Berlin before evening rush hour and press on to Amsterdam if the car runs well, if I’m tired or not happy with how it’s running I’ll stop in Hannover for the night and re-evaluate.

Winter wheels and tyres on- very interesting going to smaller, narrower tyres, the car moves around a lot more and you can feel the lack of tyre when braking (or accelerating onto a roundabout).
I live up a steep hill that has in years past totally defeated every car that tried to drive up it on summer tyres, so we shall see how this experiment pans out.
I swap out for winter wheels and tires every year. Narrow tires are goofy fun for a day but after that it's annoying.
However in the winter when snow falls, it's fun again.
And when you swap back in the spring it's like getting a new car.
Overall worth it.

I am amazed at those lease deals.
-
• #45625
Yeah, me too.
My Skoda is costing about £20k over 4 years which seems about right. (£30k car worth £10k at the end of it).
That one above looks like £6k over 2 years.
I'm buggered if I can think of somewhere to put my Focal sub, no chance it'll go under either seat, and there's really nowhere else - it's currently in the rear passenger footwell, under a mat.
Anyone got any clever ideas?
