  • I have 32 4 seasons on my stock Triban (tubeless ready) disc wheels. They are almost impossible to get off and on again; last week I hit a pothole and got a puncture and it took FIVE PEOPLE to get a new tube in and put the tyre back on. This week I got a tiny bit of glass in the other tyre and the same thing happened. Basically I can't remove or put the tyres back on myself and is insanely tight both front and rear.

I know Contis are traditionally quite tight but I've had various on different wheels (including other tubeless ready ones) with no real issues before. My other rim-braked bike has Hunts + GP4000s, they're fine.

The stock tyres that came with this bike are also really tight. I've tried GravelKings with tubes: impossible, had to send them back. Is this a case of whatever tyres I put on these wheels will be very, very hard to get on and off, or is there an easy winter tyre to mount onto difficult rims? Or should I just get new wheels? Urgh.

  • Tubeless is ruining cycling. You heard it here first.

On a slightly more serious note, what rim tape are you using? You might be able to get something thinner in which will give a little more wiggle room.
