Took the risk averse approach, better ruin a £50 headset than near new forks worth at least double that, and probably safer in case of non judicious enough filling... The gods were with me, the toddler had just a long with nap so had all the time needed to get the tools out and refit everything... Hopefully daily riding will confirm this was the problem...
