Small amount of powder bleed into the BB threads? Attack with scalpel :-D

Thanks but I'm down in London so it's a bit far

• #229
Where did you get the fork, if you don't mind me asking? Cheers

I don't know what was causing the issue with the bb thread, but it only affected one side. I got it in eventually after some bruises and a lot of sweat, only to find the other side thread in quite nicely.
Anyway, it's built:
Pretty happy with it, though I know now it needs decals, and a lot of dirt/mud. Front end needs further chopping. Looking forward to seeing how the handling has changed too. Only got dynamo lights with me so won't be commuting home on this, that'll have to wait until tomorrow.
@Rodolfo this, or very similar, is the fork:

Nice!

That's looking jolly nice. Did you get the original fork painted too? Sorry if this has been discussed before.
I reckon it wants 'guards for max aesthetics.
Let us know how the first ride goes!

• #237
Thank you! It feels kind of plain and maybe underwhelming to me right now but it's definitely not in it's final form so I'm gonna give it time.
Fork is now with @fizzy.bleach for his pomp! A straggler fork will appear for this at some point. Guards will also come in time, it's set up for cross at the moment -

Maybe this? A2C perhaps a little
bit long though -
• #239
That could be pretty wild, not sure of the look of it generally. I think the a2c is the same as the carbon fork I have on there now so will see how that rides. Rake is much higher on the one you posted though. I really like the look of the lugged straggler fork to be honest

Skipped lunchtime ride for some Mario Kart and went to ride home along the canal only to find it far too dark with my shitty light. Too used to dynamo goodness. Still, it was great fun spinning home on the road, felt really promising. I have some slightly gnarlier tyres in the post office waiting for me, and first ever race on the 15th

Do i go tubeless on this? When I get the money together to build up the wtb i25 rims that is.
Bike spending is on hold as I splurged on a group for my principia build

No-one wants to put tiagra on nice danish alu though, do they?
-
• #243
Ghetto tubeless will only cost a little bit if you've already got the rims!
-
• #244
I have the wtb rims already, have seen that they've been setup with some success on tubeless thread

Going for white decals, I don't want this to be an out and out bumblebee.

Thinking this could be great when I go back to steel fork. Bit different to a straggler fork.

I've been paid - time to get bits for wheels.
I'm looking at shimano hubs and want matching rotor types - should I go 6-bolt or centrelock? Looking at dynamo front and mtb 10speed rear
-
• #248
I have 160mm rotors for sells if interested? Centrelock or 6 bolt.
-
• #249
I prefer 6 bolt tbh.
Would go XT.
Thanks. It's been a pain to build, (suspiciously tight, but definitely not cross-threaded bb) but I've had it in the lab so I've been able to get a bit done either side of work and at lunch.
Brakes and cables to go now. Will see if discs really are a dark art.
@Momentum pm me, but bear in mind I'm up in Manchester so might not be much help if you're not local
