If you’re prepared to come down to Sussex I know of a workshop which is open to the public, you just pay to use the equipment and they have a very good tig welding set up. It’s how I learnt, then went and bought my own equipment.

Awesome. Rtech seem to have a good reputation.
Have you sorted out gas for it yet?

I’m due a new bottle, sgs rent free argon is what I’ll be going for. They seem to be the best option for rent free and the deposit is refundable when you’re done. They appear to be one of the best on refills too

Have used these people before:

London Gases if you’re in London. I don’t have my spreadsheet to hand but they came out top if you get an argon ultra bottle. It’s filled at 300 bar, most others are 200 or less - gotta look at the m³ of gas per £. They deliver free next day too I think.

thanks for the help
Hey guys, so im looking to learn to weld and thought i might as well go flying into the deep end. I'm looking for a low ish amperage machine, 140A or so. Ideally not spending more than 350-450 squids.
Alternatively is there a LFGSS of welding where i can trawl some classifieds?
thanks
