  • I was coming from a praxis 48/32 paired with an 11/32. The premise of the change was that I was tired of the praxis being annoying in various ways and wanted to keep similar gears. Shifting is miles better (I’m using di2), as are the cranks (6800) in general. In terms of gears I’m now sat on the middle of the cassette rather than the bottom half, and I stay on the big ring more often. I didn’t think two teeth would make such a difference but there you go.

Right on, that's me too. Big ring everywhere on the flat/downhill/short hills with 46/30 + 11-36. I front shift about once every 10 miles, only on big hills. It's not far off 1× with 46t + 11-32 (or 28 depending how you feel about cross chaining) except you don't need to worry about climbing because you've got the granny ring. Love it.
