Ha, I believe our cats help alleviate any marital problems we face too.

They’re great de-stressers. She popped out twice during the night but came straight back up to me and was still there at 7.30 this morning. I bloody love my cat.

do not mean to piss on your parade but
popped out twice during the night but came straight back
that because she's cold and you're a heat source
was still there at 7.30 this morning
that's because she's hungry and wants you to feed her

No, she just likes the company. She comes up for tummy rubs and then falls asleep. She’ll lie next to me or near me, but not on me. Also, she’s a Coon and has the thickest fur imaginable, I don’t think keeping warm is an issue for her!
As for wanting feeding, she’s not really a foodie cat. She always has a bowl of kibble out and is fed wet food twice a day, but the only thing she’ll eat is Royal Canin maine coon biscuits (extra large cos of her jaw size) and Purina cat soups. And Dreamies. You could place the finest fish, steak or chicken down in front of her and she wouldn’t even sniff it.

How the fuck do I stop Patch from using my brand new rug as her scratching pad? I mean she already has 2 posts, 2 cardboard pad things, a wooden coffee table, unlimited fences in the gardens and who knows what else. But oh no, she just loves to scratch my brand new rug!!!
Anyone wants a cat? Free to a good home. Rug not included.

I'll take her :)

Deal. Are you any good at mopping up sick? That’s her talent!
(Wanna see some pics first? The sick not the cat!)

I'll heal her with my extra gentle tummy rubs

Aside, I solved the scratching the carpet problem with scratching pads. Maybe it's your positioning? I find my cats like to do it as soon as they enter the room, so I keep a a post by the doorway. A pad at the top of the stairs also seems to work well.

Yeah and with that mount of fur I bet he could get a role on the new Flintstones movie.
Here’s his little sister:

All the above mentioned scratching things she loves to scratch... maybe I’ll add another pad near the rug...
By the way, she has an extra large kill switch on her belly!

Well he already did the hairy bit (slightly obscure Beauty and the Beast TV series from the 80s)

Have you trimmed her nails right back as far as they can go? Our cat can't get his claws into our carpet when they're as short as possible. We need to trim them every two weeks or so to keep on top of it though.

• #8648
How about you trim your own nails as far back as they can go.

Eh?

Leave the fucking cat alone.
Y’know what’s good? When you go out with the wife, have a good evening until you get home and she kicks off about nothing at all and storms off to bed, and you stay up and make a late supper and then head to bed yourself and you’ve not been in bed for 20 seconds and the cat flap goes crash and the bedroom door bursts open and a there’s a bounce and a giant coonie jumps onto the bed and boofs you on the nose and then flumps down beside you for tummy rubs and purrs loudly enough to make your bedside lamp rattle and then settles down for an enormous grooming session til she falls asleep?
Well, that. Thanks Dizzy.
