Naan does not translate in bread.... Naan is simply a type of bread of which there are many. For example roti. (Which is a flat bread)
There isn't an equivalent of bread in Hindi as far as I am aware.
Interesting a lot english words are commonly used across India...bread being one of them.
I have also heard of western style sliced bread being called double roti because of its thickness. This is very rare terminology now. -
