Brompton noob, that's not where your bike goes in the carriage...

I've not worn the same colour shoes since february.

Anyone have an easy way to make it so my brompton doesn't unfold when I try and carry it folded?
-
• #5782
Fold it properly. Sounds like you’re missing something (maybe the hook going over the chainstay or not putting saddle all the way down).
-
• #5783
Got th saddle all the way down and the front wheel round with the hook on the chainstay?

Trying to avoid putting the saddle down as then when I'm riding again it takes a couple of stops to get it where I want it again.

What did you do for the shifter?
Is there a 3 speed that's the other way around so they can match the newer ones?
-

Put a load of tape round it at the right height?
-

dropping the seat post locks the whole bike!

And then push the tape inside my frame?
-
• #5791
Could but then my partner can't ride it.
-
• #5792
surely there is a specialist brompton dating site now to find the correct height partner?

stock brompton 3 speed shifter works for the 3 external, so ill use that on the summer bike,
On the 9 speed, im using SA / Sunrace thumbies, underneath the bar -

Wang a toe strap round the frame / back wheel when folded!
-
• #5797
may get excommunicated here but you could do a tiny superficial scratch in the post to mark both of your heights, otherwise as @maynardeames said locking system in the frame won't hold

With make up these days, you can't be too careful.

Nice. I take it that's a regular 2 speed with some modification or thinner spacers/circlip?
Always wondered about modifications like this. Be interesting to know if it can be done with an IGH hub too.
