As a former International Development Secretary, she undoubtedly cares very much about the colonies.

• #15428
She really is an example of a total fucking moron

Indisputably true.
I wonder who her protector within the Tory Party is? -

No cake?

Got eaten and shat out.

I think cake is represented by the Spanish. Or the buttons.

I hadn't thought of that and happened to be having dinner with a friend who used to work at number 10 last night (as a civil servant, not a Tory).
He didn't think this could be possible because he believes May's intent focus on plan A is actually totally genuine - apparently she's really not a 'scenario planner' type and he reckons no way she's playing a game that long. I don't know whether to be relieved or worried about that.
That said Perry's little visit was on BBC R4 PM and I can't find any other evidence of it ever happening, so can only presume PM were given exclusive access, which is interesting.

Oh yes, fancy that. Including Claire Perry in the last week:
https://twitter.com/round_windows/status/1071185882798063616It's hard to understand the logic: 1 in 5 people in the UK are in absolute poverty and food banks are booming - I'll have a piece of what I helped create/am helping perpetuate!

• #15436
I'm just spitballing here but perhaps this sudden push to meet the public, press the flesh and test the water isn't of May's planning. It could even be a veiled threat to May...

Where does the milk come from, to make the clotted cream?
Due to the visit being a PM exclusive with few details I don't know but my guess would be that it was Roddas as their website says they export to Dubai, Germany, Holland, Italy, Japan, Madeira, Malaysia, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Tenerife and Hong Kong.
If so - 100% Cornish milk.

It's definitely come from No. 10 and has been presented as coming from May herself. She said:
"Overwhelmingly, the message I’ve heard is that people want us to get on with it."
"And that’s why it’s important that ministers are out speaking with communities across the UK about how the deal works for them."
I don't know, I think I might just accept that it's an unexplainable phenomenon. The political equivalent of yawning.

If Perry was in Cornwall,
this: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/protected-food-name-cornish-clotted-cream-pdo
mandates Cornish milk. -

The political equivalent of yawning.
Or screaming.

Post-Brexit, I plan to produce Cornish Clotted cream by the tanker-load.
Produced in France, using nothing but the best French milk.
-
• #15442
We jettison PDO's with no-deal, so anyone can make Cornish Clotted Cream - vast quantities being made in Ireland for worldwide export etc.

I'm off to register stilton.co.fr, cheddar.co.fr and champagne.co uk

So ECJ has confirmed what was stated in the advice, that UK can unilaterally withdraw A50. Probably academic with the current situation, infighting and all other smoke and mirrors. I hope not though.

• #15446
Won't it make it so that No Deal is no longer the default to Mays vote being rejected?
-
• #15447
There’s a Hilary Benn amendment, with broad cross party support, that stops No Deal that may get added to May’s vote.
-
• #15448
Here's hoping.

The good thing about unilateral revocation is that it also, obviosuly, implies unilateral extension (by 2 years alor more at least).
I think that, given this ruling, it would be arguable that an arbitrary extension should be ours for the deciding. Should take some heat out of the situation.
-
• #15450
Ruling states, an extension needs to be approved by member states, however we would still be able to revoke A.50 whilst within the extended period.
probably got some pro-tips from BiBi on her last 'holiday'...
