Just ordered some bluemels, is there a go to flap for maximum coverage? Nothing leather!

A friend runs Top Flaps in Leeds, seen loads of riders with them so I assume they're decent?

They're OK, but they get rather brittle if it's really cold, and then they crack. I need to replace the flap on my winter trainer, as I caught it on the ground hanging the bike up in very cold conditions, so it's now got a big tear across it.
