Pre 1950s rides of LFGSS: old bikes, vintage rats, classic lightweights

Not a ‘classic’ (yet), my new Thorn EXP (2005 ish, made by Kevin Sayles who’s now at Woodrup) is currently with Winston having some changes made, is made with entirely sealed tubes (except Seat & Head, obvs!), including sealed bottle bosses. Thorn specced them like this to try to keep frames relatively moisture-free. Winston was saying he’d been thinking about this possibility for his own frames, and seemed pretty interested to see a frame made this way.

Maybe there’s a builder of yore who was doing this too? No idea is ever new...
