How off-road, and what terrain? Depends whether you'd rather compromise speed on road or grip off.

Quite liked my Kenda Happy Medium 29er tyres, provided its not muddy. Center is nearly slick, with nobbles at the side. More skewed to the road/easy bridleway side of things, but still capable anywhere provided its not a mud bath.

I'd like to do some touring on my 29er, probably a mix of road and off-road - what kind of tyres would be suitable. Probably not looking to pay more than £40 per tyre
