Looking for a prime in the 20-35mm range to compliment the 50mm 1.4.
Looking at
FD 24mm 2.8
FD 28mm 2.8
Anyone have any preference? Digging online suggests both aren't great wide open (to be expected of most 70s/ 80s wide angle primes?) and solid sharpness edge to edge only coming in at F8ish
Should I put much emphasis in looking for older breech lock types vs newer, more plasticky FDn? The 50mm I have is older, heavier breech lock and feels good and solid, but I'll sacrifice that if the newer lighter FDn types maintain the same image quality if even not feeling that heavy/ solid.
Could it be more valuable to adapt something M42 in that focal range to FD? Have heard excellent things about the Mir 37mm F2.8 even though would like a shorter focal length.
I never got on with the breech lock types, found the others easier to mount.
But yea, it's easy to overthink stuff like this.
Just get a clean lens that looks like it's been handled well and start shooting.
Fuck edge to edge sharpness, nobody cares.

Looking not to cap cost at around £100
