  • Hey all,

My GF was a courier with Stuart for a couple of months in the summer and this backpack is a beast. I could probably get inside it if I really wanted to...

Great condition and comes with the additional thermal bag. They cost £70 to buy from the company when you sign up, which you get back if you return it undamaged.

Thought it would be nicer to offer it back to the real shredders rather than a douchey corporation #stickittotheman

    £50?

Collection only - Ideally Honor Oak, Peckham or Dalston

  • Are there minimum hours with Stuart do you know? Or can you sign up and never do a shift or just an hour every now and then?

  • It took me longer than it should have to realise the company was called Stuart and they didn't personalise the bags with their riders names. At least 3 Stuarts.

  • you book 2hr shifts in your favoured zones with the staffomatic app. ( its hard to get a shift due to the amount of riders sometimes)
these shifts are minimum guarantee, so they pay a base rate regardless if you make drops or not.
but if you dont wanna faff around with the staffomatic app you can just turn the app on in one of the zones and get paid per drop with no base rate. ( in Birmingham 4 quid a drop)
I just normally turn up in my city centre zone, and do around 2hrs after i finish my day job, (after 5pm) people/students mainly are ordering food for dinner so i normally make 20-25 pound per day.
BUT! sometimes there are no jobs at all around 30% of the time.

    hope this helps

  • Sounds alright. I’m just wondering whether it’s possible to register when you only plan on doing one shift every 2 weeks or so.

  • Yes you can, one of my friends does that, but if you dont use the app for more than one month, it automatically deactivates your account.

  • Cool so 1 shift a month minimum?
    Sorry for thread derail

  • No worries :)

  • Yeah, basically make sure you’re active at least once a day each month, Imthat’s the bare minimum requirement, but maybe it’ll change soon, I don’t know, a lot of these companies change their legislations after a few months, there’s also a rating system, but I don’t know how that works tbh. I booked a shift and missed it and they sent me a text saying my CPS will be affected.

    EDIT:
I’ve had some errors with onfido background checks, it’s not a very reliable company and they’ve sent me a lot of emails regarding mismatched names on passports, addresses etc. I don’t know why.

  • Interested, dibs from Dalston.

  • Stuart is apparently much better to work for than Deliveroo but I've gone six months without doing a Deliveroo shift with no issue. Just as you said, I was doing the odd few hours here and there, fitting around whatever else I had on. You can also sign up and then never work for them at all. Maybe consider it as well

  • Noted and replied 👍

  • 2nd dibs

  • I have one of these if anyone is interested. £50 is golden. In great nick.

  • Still interested buddy?

  • Can always sign up and do no shifts and get a free bag...

  • Que¿

They cost £70 to buy from the company when you sign up, which you get back if you return it undamaged.

  • true tho you only pay the deposit for it

  • Undamaged is subjective so the deposit will be at risk...

I'll rather spend 50 then sell it down the road for 40 than risking not getting a penny of the deposit back. That said, just sell it on for 50 like OP? ;)

  • Pretty sure the bag in the OP’s post is an Ortlieb?

If these are branded up Ortliebs then £50 is bargainous and even the £70 that Stuart want for them is pretty cheap.

Mine (orange, not Stuart branded) must be getting on for being 10 years old and it looks like it’ll do another 10 no bother.

  • I signed up 6 months ago as the promo video shows someone delivering something that is not food from somewhere.

Turned up for induction and was told it was pretty much all food deliveries so didn't bother and found someone else to ride for. Got a massive bag though (not Ortlieb) but didn't have to pay anything?

  • That's true, 70 ain't bad!

  • I may be interested here if classic alex isn't anymore. Is it the ortlieb one or no? got a pic or two?

    cheers.

  • Haven’t got any pics at the moment. But it’s not quite the same as the one in the pictures. It’s this one.
