Kona Rove ST would be my choice for £1.5k.
The Marin is also good.
Would consider Genesis Vagabond too I think.
All City bikes are too expensive in the UK. -

Ta. Hadn’t thought of the Rove and had discounted the vagabond as a gravel bike but will take another look.

Thanks - LTD does look like a great bike but I need something a little more road than gravel.

Marin Four Corners (current front runner - ticks most boxes)
Kona Rove ST
Trek 520 (more trad touring option)(Caad discounted as no midblade mounts on the fork that I can see)

Aaah shit. I’ve discovered Shand custom bikes.
Help needed from the hive mind- Currently considering purchasing a new bike when I get back to the UK.
I’m looking to get work/experience as an assistant guide leader next summer so need something nimble/quick but also suitable for taking out for light touring (road/bridleways/bit of gravel) on my own.
Ideally suited to day rides, week/two week touring. Ideally want 105 group set, alu or steel, front forks with eyelets for for panniers plus mudguards and possibly wald front rack/basket, disc brakes and enough gears for hills with a loaded bike. Not fussed about dynamo hubs but would like lighter wheels with sealed hubs. Looking at either budget friendly Marin Four Corners or really save ££££’a for an all city space horse (how much of these are hype?)
Have also seen LBK do a build you own bike course and can help source a space horse frame and fork.
No budget yet - want to keep total under £1.5k - but want something fairly quick and responsive while also suitable for light touring.
Any other frames/ off the peg bikes I should be looking at? This could either be my first build or an off the peg where I updgrade a few bits.
