• Any forum recommended patches (is this even the best approach) for fixing inside a horrible gash on my g one speed?

Tried rubberised superglue which didn't fix it and kept leaking air; before I go through a whole bottle of cafelatex or buy a new tyre (which would be shit as it's not old) thought I'd see if a patch on the interior would work.

  • Have you tried a worm first? Or did that fail?

  • or buy a new tyre (which would be shit as it's not old)

Sometimes you damage a tyre so badly that replacing it is the only option, even if it's in the first mile on the first day of use.

  • +1 for worm : Usually a worm + rubberised superglue works nicely, and avoid having to remove the tyre and messing with sealant..

Regarding paches, I've used a hutchinson "rep'air" road tubeless patch to fix a leaking fusion 5 galactik tyre (tyre worm would not even stay in the hole...) : It's been holding for a while now, and look safer than a worm fix, so I guess you could try.

Btw, I'm not sure how different are these patches from regular one - maybe different rubber compound ? the kit glue is the same as the one in their tube patch kit.
