  • If a circular bucket of depth d and radius r can hold 1 litre, then if d remains constant then the radius needs to increase by what r+x to hold 2 litres? And then as number of litres increases incrementally what happens to x?

  • Volume is simply 2 π r² d. So to double the volume, you need a new radius x with x² = 2r² which implies x = √(2) r
